Jacinta Lanz is a poet and meditation guide. Her work exists at the intersection of language, the body, and the direct experience of the present, exploring breath as a form of listening and return. She accompanies individuals and communities through conscious breathing practices. She offers in-person classes in Todos Santos, Baja California, shares guided meditations on Insight Timer, and facilitates retreats and collective gatherings.

Stephanie Davies is a Brooklyn-based writer, speaker coach, and event organizer with a passion for social justice. She’s worked for Doctors Without Borders, North Star Fund, the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative, the Plum Village Community of Thich Nhat Hanh, and UNAIDS, among others. 

Vanya Suchan is a New York City based writer, photographer, event organizer and the co-founder of the magazine Systems of Release, an archival publication focused on underground electronic music culture in NYC.

Stargrl is a dyke dj in new york city and a real down-to-mars-grl, curating diverse dance spaces for lesbians and trans people as producer princess of @kittypoolparty's nyc chapter ♥ on stargrl's dancefloor she hopes you access the feeling of freedom that the empire rarely allows queer people to embody. she hopes you let go and DANCE. at villageworks with no dancefloor present, stargrl is very excited to stretch out and play a creative downtempo set!

Feminist Furies: Surviving The Patriarchy on Steroids with Stephanie Davies, Linda Villarosa & Beverley Donofrio

In her book Surviving the Patriarchy, Stephanie Davies offers a beacon of feminist light in this time of darkness. She captures the rage and grief we often feel as we navigate a world where male violence is on overdrive. And she offers a tribute to women everywhere-their solidarity, creativity, and spirit-as they've resisted misogyny for centuries and continue to resist it now more than ever.

These three great feminist authors will read from their work, share their unique perspectives and conduct an audience discussion and Q&A designed to encourage us all to keep on loving, hoping, resisting, creating, and dancing, despite it all.

The Summer Salon featured a collaborative lineup of four distinguished Hudson Valley women creators. The evening focused on finding "islands of sanity" through literature, poetry, and performance art:

Stephanie Davies, presented her new collection, Surviving a Patriarchy on Steroids. The Kerhonkson-based author and winner of the Lambda Literary Jeanne Cordova Prize writes with humor and compassion about feminist solidarity and resisting misogyny. One notable chapter she highlighted is titled, "Is My Dog a Victim of the Patriarchy?"

Jacinta Lanz reads from En Nuestro Camino / On Our Way, a beautifully produced bilingual collection of poems and meditations designed to connect language, the body, and breath.

Janlori Goldman is an award-winning Hudson Valley writing mentor read from her poetry collection, Bread from a Stranger's Oven.

Nancy Ostrovsky has been recognized as a "pioneer of performance painting," Ostrovsky has exhibited worldwide and designed the striking cover art for Davies' new book.
